Diedrich Jewelers has been a staple of the Ripon community since its establishment in 1923 by Harry Diedrich. With a commitment to exceptional customer service and a vast array of fine jewelry, watches, giftware, and clocks, the store quickly became a local favorite. Harry’s dedication to quality and service was continued by Bob Mathia, who started working at the store in 1957 and became an integral part of the business, learning every aspect of the jewelry trade under Harry’s guidance.
In 1978, after Harry’s passing, Bob and his wife, Joan, purchased Diedrich Jewelers, preserving the original name to honor its rich history. They moved the store to a larger location at 212 Watson St. in 1980, where it still operates today. This location was completely remodeled and re-opened by their daughter Shelly and her husband Derek in November 2018, following the closure of their Berlin store, ensuring that the legacy of personalized service and quality continues.
Today, Diedrich Jewelers remains a family-owned business, revered for its dedication to crafting bespoke jewelry and providing a wide selection of diamond engagement rings, designer collections, and luxury watches. The store prides itself on offering comprehensive services including custom jewelry design, repairs, and appraisals.
