About the Role

 

The Director of Business Development will lead and inspire the Sales and Marketing teams to improve our brand footprint and in-store experience. This role will own the performance, development and growth of our retail partners alongside our sales and marketing teams. Additionally, this role will be responsible for developing marketing strategies and brand campaigns with the ability to balance strategic planning and tactical execution. The role is ideal for someone who is a visionary brand builder and a coach – a harmony of harnessing the vision of the brand and being able to execute by scaling people, processes and impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the brand’s marketing strategy from planning through execution, continuously refining based on performance data.
  • Design and execute a pipeline-generating strategy to grow our retail network and grow sales inside existing accounts.
  • Oversee the launch of new collections, go-to-marketing strategy, retailer staff engagement, and retail partner marketing.
  • Visit key doors to ideate and adapt business development plans based on door-level data and retailer feedback to maximize impact.
  • Run our digital engine by owning both B2C and B2B websites, oversee our paid and organic media strategy.
  • Chase smart collaborations with like-minded luxury brands and select online platforms.
  • Represent Sylvie at trade shows and special events.
  • Build tools for our sales team and retail partners to achieve success.
  • Monitor funnel metrics and conversion rates to find and scale what works.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications business or a related field; MBA is a plus but not required.
  • 6-8 years of relevant business experience leading business development or related efforts.
  • Experience in fine jewelry, watches, or another luxury category.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market presence through sales and marketing leadership.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and collaborate with all levels of individuals both within and outside the organization.
  • Proven leadership experience and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to articulate and persuade on complex, visionary ideas to various audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills to oversee multiple projects and guide teams to prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in market analysis and customer insight generation.
  • Creative thinker and storyteller with attention to detail in the context of luxury advertising.
