After serving the jewelry needs of Pittsburghers for 32 years at the iconic Siegel’s Jewelers in Southside, Joe Sr. and his wife Dolly opened Urbanowicz Jewelers in the Caste Village Shoppes. Their wealth of experience, unwavering trust, and a strong commitment to personalized service formed the cornerstone of their business.
Joe Urbanowicz Jr., inspired by his father’s passion, learned the intricacies of the jewelry trade during his high school and college years. Tragedy struck in 1992 with Joe Sr.’s passing, prompting Joe Jr. to return to Pittsburgh to support his mother and preserve the family legacy. His deep-rooted affinity for gems and minerals, nurtured by his geology studies at Penn State, grew into a lifelong love for fine jewelry. Joe pursued further education, earning the title of Graduate Gemologist (G.G.), ensuring that the tradition remained unbroken.
Today, Urbanowicz Jewelers proudly serves Pittsburghers from two locations in Caste Village and Peters Township. Over 25 years, the business has seen remarkable growth, expanding its dedicated staff to include 6 full-time and 4 part-time employees.
